WE MUST RECEIVE YOUR FILES BY JULY 31, 2008

Entries uploaded after this date will not appear in the Art on Demand section of the Dragon*Con Art Show.
DIGITAL ART FILE SPECIFICATIONS
  • Minimum file size
    • 4400 pixels by 5600 pixels at 200 dpi (either portraits or landscape modes)
  • Maximum file size
    • 50 megabytes
  • File Type
    • RGB format
    • LZW compressed TIF formatted files
      • JPG and GIF formatted images are NOT acceptable
  • Compressing Files
    • If you wish to compress several images into a single file to reduce the number of files you need to upload, please keep the following in mind:
      • The FTP site will only accept files up to 50M in size
      • Please use a common compression application (such as WinZip) or an application for which there is a freeware extractor available.
      • Please specify the name of the compression application you used.

These image parameters allow us to print at high quality on media up to 22 inches by 28 inches in dimension. However, the higher the resolution, the better, so we would prefer higher resolution images, to a maximum file size of 50M.

If your Art on Demand submission is of a different proportion, it is up to you to create an appropriate 'border' or crop to fit the specified proportions. We suggest that you use solid black on dark images and solid white on light images for your 'border.' WE WILL NOT POST PROCESS YOUR ART TO FIT THE PRINT!

Images that do not meet the requirements will not be displayed.

Art on Demand submissions must reach us by July 31, 2008 - NO EXCEPTIONS.

UPLOADING YOUR IMAGES

  • Your Name is required to do an upload.
  • Each file name should be unique and match the file names on the accompanying Art on Demand Control Sheet.
  • NO SPACES or SPECIAL CHARACTERS in the file names!
    • Use only Alpha-Numeric characters (a-z, A-Z, 0-9)
    • use underscores _ or dashes - instead of spaces in your file names.
    • The password is case sensitive.  If you haven't received your password contact Ingrid.
    • HTML, script and executable files can not be uploaded  (exp. "htm", "php", "asp", "exe", "com", ".js"  etc.)
    • Files larger than 50 Megabytes should not be uploaded using this system. Contact Ingrid if this is a problem.

ART ON DEMAND CONTROL SHEET

Along with your image submissions you must also upload a completed copy of the Art on Demand Control Sheet

  • Specify your Artist ID number, your Artist Name (and Agent's Name, if applicable) and the page number
  • The "Image ID" field will be populated automatically as you enter information into the other fields.
  • The "File Name" is the name of the file that you are uploading (e.g. "My_First_File.tif")
  • The "Image Title" is the name of the piece (e.g. "Summertime Dragons: On the Beach")
  • If you ordered a Sample Image, indicate the image type ordered and enter the "Image ID" for the image you want printed

If you are having problems uploading all of your files at the same time, try uploading them one at a time. If your first file time stamp is before the deadline, the rest of your files will be accepted even if it takes a few days to get them all uploaded. If you are having problems, send us an email so we know.
 

If we encounter problems with your entries, we will contact you. If your entries are timestamped BY THE ENTRY DEADLINE, we will make arrangements to insure your entries make it into the show. If you do not meet the submission deadline we will do our best to get you into the show but due to the chaotic nature of schedules during deadlines, we will not guarantee this.
Failure to UPLOAD... in the event that you are unable to upload your entries, you should contact us immediately!
